The Academy is working with its partner, The London Institute of Banking and Finance, to deliver a high-quality digital banking educational framework.
As the Academy partner responsible for the Banking and Finance School, the Institute is launching a series of digital banking courses shaped by experts and founded on newly emerging best practice in the field.
The launch of the Digital Banking educational framework follows the appointment by The London Institute of Banking and Finance of Renier Lemmens as Visiting Professor, FinTech and Innovation and Senior Advisor on Digital Education. Renier began his career in management consultancy at Arthur D. Little and then as a Partner at McKinsey (1992-2002) in London, India, and Silicon Valley. He subsequently held leadership roles in a variety of financial institutions in Europe and the USA including GE Capital, Barclays and PayPal where he was Chief Executive of their Europe, Middle East and Africa business. Since 2012 he has held non-executive and advisory positions in FinTech start-ups across Europe and was appointed non-executive Director of Revolut earlier this year. He holds an MSc in Computer Science from Delft University of Technology and an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD. This announcement follows a recent article by Alastair Tyler of The London Institute of Banking and Finance in International Banker on how the digital banking revolution is impacting the skills profile required of today’s banking professional.
The Academy will help to shape the next generation of professionals within the financial services sector, giving them the skills to flourish, and, as their careers develop, to build the successful financial services organisations of the future.
Hamad Al Mazrouei, Human Resources and General Services Director at ADGM Academy comments, “It is critical that the bankers of the future have the skills to provide a seamless, omnichannel digital banking experience that meets the lifestyle and communications behaviour of a new generation of millennial customers. We are delighted with the Institute’s programme, which will not only equip tomorrow’s retail banking professionals, but will help to prepare the leaders of the future with a robust understanding of technology platforms, open banking, regulation and the skillsets to critically analyse FinTech initiatives. These skills will be vital in supporting the national and international economy with innovative banking services that have been founded on solid principles of security, regulation and technical expertise.”
