This module has been designed to provide participants with an introduction to risk management concepts as well as the associated governance. Participants will be provided with an introduction to the types of risk, how risk impacts a financial institution, risk appetite, governance and strategy. The module starts out exploring the role of risk management in the organisation and how it impacts the business as well as staff. Credit, market, and operational risk concepts are considered in more detail, along with the concept of risk appetite. Governance around risk management, reporting structures and risk attitude will be considered in more detail as well as the regulatory environment. This is an introductory module and does not require prior knowledge of risk management.
